On October 15, 1957, nine New Process Gear, Chrysler Division
of Central New York, employees and United Auto Workers Union Local 624 members
joined together to organize and offer savings and loan services to their fellow
employees and respective families. The credit union was established to offer an
alternative banking source. As the banks were profit oriented, the credit union
was, still is, and always will be, member oriented. It was the founders' goal
to create a financial institution where people meant more than money. Thus, the
inception of N.P.G. Employees Federal Credit Union. This not-for-profit financial
cooperative, where its members are its owners, and original ideals still hold
true, has flourished over the years. Today, the full-service - and federally insured
- credit union located at 6555 Ridings Rd, Syracuse, NY and at 202 ½
Tuscarora Rd, Chittenango, NY, serves more than 7700 members.
Our field of membership is comprised of several local companies.
All employees, their relatives, and all retirees from our field of membership
are eligible to join NPG Federal Credit Union. Since we abide by the philosophy
"Once a Member... Always a Member", any NPG FCU member in good standing,
may remain a member of NPG Federal Credit Union wherever life and career paths
lead him or her.
Each new member must complete a membership application and
deposit $5.00 directly into their credit union account. An eligible employer's
Human Resource Department, Benefits Office or Payroll Department should have applications
for membership and more information regarding NPG Federal Credit Union for you.
